Tula is the daughter of a glassmaker. During the night she and her siblings would take turns keeping the kilns hot. She was abducted from her home, tortured and raped by a man from the Daviian Clan, who she nicknamed Ferde. She managed to escape and was found seriously injured and was brought to the Magician's Keep in the Citadel to receive healing and help with the investigation into the abductions. Yelena healed her injuries and recovered her soul with the help of her sister, Opal. She gave Yelena a description of Ferde through her memories. Ferde strangled her to death in order to complete the blood ritual and took her sister, presumably as an exchange for Yelena.
